Background
The SWITCH-Asia programme was launched in 2007 as part of the European Union’s strategy to support sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in its regional cooperation strategy with Asia. As of 2023, the SWITCH-Asia – Promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production (Policy Support Component) covers 41 countries in Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific.
The Policy Support Component (PSC) aims at building capacities of regional organisations and partner countries in the region supporting their transition to low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economic models by integrating required policy frameworks and developing incentives for the green transition of the private sector and for consumers and citizens to adopt a more responsible consumption behaviour.
It also supports countries in complying with regional and international agreements related to environment and climate change, as well as enhancing regional policy dialogues on SCP, engaging with all relevant stakeholders and sharing experiences with the EU and its Member States in this specific area.
Description of the Assignment
The Project Support Officer will be working closely together with the team of experts based in our Bangkok office and will contribute to the following tasks:
Perform basic office tasks such as filing, scanning, preparing documents for VAT report, withholding tax report and social security fund;Conduct data collection and analysis for the preparation of Technical Assistances (TAs) in close coordination with the team of key experts;Conduct background research on specific TA’s in close coordination with the team of key experts;Other tasks as required by the key experts.
Qualifications
- Master Degree in the field of political sciences, environmental engineering, environmental management, economics or other relevant disciplines;
- Good command of the English language speaking and writing;
- At least one year of working experience;
- Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
